The Back-to-School program provides new backpacks and school supplies to low income students grade 1- 8 who need encouragement and inspiration to start and stay in school.  Many of these children have little or no school supplies to start the new school year.  Under-resourced families struggle just to get by from week to week and often have nothing left for the educational tools they wish they could give to their children.  They simply do without, or the burden falls on the teachers who resort to using their own funds.  With your help, they can have the school supplies necessary to complete their assignments, enjoy school and prepare for their future.

The Back-To-School Program works by distributing School Supply Tags with a child’s gender, grade level and school supply list, to participating Host organizations. Employees, members and patrons purchase a new backpack, fill it with the school supplies listed on the tag and return it to the Host Site.  Communities That Care collects the filled backpacks and delivers them to participating agencies for distribution to the children.
